PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP // Hospitality crushes, where is the next drink coming from?

Wednesday, June 12, 2024
2:00 PM - 5:30 PM
The Northern Club - Wintergarden

Details

Imagine that you are put into the driving seat of a company that is facing an existence threatening crisis within an industry that is burdened by harsh trading circumstances. The appointment brief is to strip away the noise of the claimants and focus on determining the viability of the business. Then to engage across all economically relevant stakeholders to find a pathway through the morass and achieve the best possible outcome for those stakeholders. Along the way, new information will surface, supporting dynamics will change, and surprising obstructions will be encountered. These must be overcome by you with reference to the powers and duties that you hold (and any leverage that you might be able to create), while at the same time staying as firm as you can be, to the objective that is consistent with your appointment. The Masterclass to which you are invited explores the framework from which you are required to operate, the options that you must explore to derive the best value, and the issues you may confront from the various stakeholders. The challenges facing you will demand you pay attention to the three formal states of insolvency while being mindful of third-party security interests and directorial duties. You will work in small teams to consider and devise a strategy to achieve your desired outcome. The panel convened to provide detail and guidance for this workshop brings forward a wealth of knowledge and experience. The facilitator for this event is Larissa Logan - a highly competent Insolvency Practitioner with over a decade of experience in turnaround and restructuring. Larissa will lead a panel of lawyers and insolvency practitioners that bring to the workshop highly relevant and practical specialist skills. Come away from the workshop feeling that you have learned not only valuable and immediately useable information, but nuanced perspectives that will show you in a new light amongst your peers and the clients for who you are seeking to achieve results (and hopefully made some new friends and contacts along the way).
