AI, Law and Society
The Legal Research Foundation and Auckland Law School are pleased to invite you to an evening presentation and discussion on AI, Law and Society with leading AI and Law experts: Professor Alexandra Andhov, Matt Bartlett and Professor Mark A. Lemley
Hon Justice Jane Anderson will chair the session.
In a very short amount of time, AI has become a significant part of nearly every aspect of societies around the world. We are in a critical moment for the advancement of AI - one where leading figures in the field are sounding warnings about risks of significant harm, just as businesses, schools, and governments are rapidly implementing the technology. This masterclass explores AI’s growing and potential impact on society and considers how governments, judges, and the legal profession should respond. The panelists will discuss a wide range of societal implications, including the potential impact on courts, the legal profession, financial markets, education, as well as the viability of different forms of regulation.
Light refreshments will be provided from 5:30-6:00PM prior to the event.
Kindly note that we will be taking photos during the event and may use some of the photos on the Legal Research Foundation social media for promotional purposes. If you do not wish for your photo to be taken or for it to appear on our social media, you can let us know by emailing julia@legalresearch.org.nz
